Have you ever seen someone walk into a room and get everyone’s attention without saying a word? That’s where I come in. I am here to listen to you and help you choose a look that fits you and your lifestyle. To help you make your own statement without having to talk at all.
Even as a child, I’ve always loved hair. I was constantly cutting my Barbie’s hair and before I knew it, I was practicing on my cousins. Sorry Uncle Ted and Aunt Amy. I hope you can forgive me for those beginner haircuts. Yikes! But practicing as a youngster paid off because I got into hair school early and got my license at age 18.
Soon after I got my license, I was in an internship where I learned advanced coloring and cutting techniques. Sadly, I decided to leave after the salon tried to make me fit into a specialty that I never wanted. I moved closer to home and worked my butt off for many years as an independent hair stylist.
I have always loved being able to create something beautiful for someone and seeing the confidence it gives them when they love their hair. The ability to take the chemistry behind color, put the color to hair, watch it change and make something new feeds my soul. I also love the challenge that comes with being a hair stylist, taking someone’s vision and making it come to life before their eyes.
I like to stay motivated and I am dedicated to staying on top of my education. Being fresh and trendy always stays on my to-do list. I also have a sweet and sassy daughter who loves to teach me patience, When I’m not at the salon, you will find me with her or friends.
The most rewarding part of my job are the thanks I get from people saying, “Thank you for listening to what I was looking for and not just doing your own thing. I love my hair.” Or seeing them walk away completely relaxed from the shampoo bowl after the scalp massage and hearing them say, “I needed that.”
